Wabash River at Montezuma down to Riverton...and at Mount Carmel. .Minor flooding continues along portions of the Wabash River following heavy rainfall earlier this week...that totaled generally two to four inches across western central Indiana. Flooding will end at Montezuma and Terre Haute Saturday...with minor flooding continuing at most points downriver into next week. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Montezuma. * WHEN...Until early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Several hundred acres of bottomlands along the right bank from the mouth of Sugar Creek to northern edge of Montezuma begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM EDT Friday the stage was 15.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM EDT Friday was 17.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Located in western Indiana along Sugar Creek, Turkey Run State Park Campground provides 213 electric Class A campsites designed for both RV and tent camping. Six sites are wheelchair accessible. Each campsite includes electrical hookup, picnic table, fire ring, and parking spur, with drinking water available throughout the area. Modern restroom facilities with hot showers serve the campground, though only the west-side comfort station remains open during winter months. The campground operates year-round and accepts reservations up to 6 months in advance, with all sites now reservable though unreserved sites may be available first-come, first-served. A camp store near the campground parking lot operates from Memorial Day weekend through early November, offering food, firewood, and camping supplies. The campground also features two Youth Tent Camp areas for groups of 10 or more with pit toilets and fire rings. Campers have access to Turkey Run State Park's renowned hiking trails featuring dramatic sandstone cliffs, ravines, and waterfalls, as well as Sugar Creek for canoeing and fishing. The park offers additional amenities including a swimming pool, historic inn with restaurant, saddle barn with trail rides, and two historic covered bridges. Standard camping rates apply from late April through early November, with modified rates and services during winter months.

From the north: US 41 south to SR 47 east to park entrance. From the south: US 41 north to SR 47 east to park entrance. From the east: I-74 west to exit 34 (Crawfordsville/US 231), then US 231 south to SR 47 west about 23 miles to park entrance. From the west: I-74 east to exit 15 (US 41), then south on US 41 to SR 47 east to park entrance.
