A 3 to 4 hour period of light snow is expected this evening into the early overnight with scattered flurries lingering through the remainder of the night. Light accumulations less than an inch are possible focused especially across the northern half of central Indiana. Untreated roads will become slick and snow covered. Increasing winds and bitterly cold temperatures late tonight into Monday morning will support blowing snow, especially in rural areas. Challenging travel conditions are possible this evening through Monday morning. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

About

Lieber State Recreation Area encompasses 8,000 acres surrounding Cagles Mill Lake in Putnam County, Indiana. The property features two distinct campground areas: Poplar Grove Electric Campground with 113 electric sites and Sunny Acres Non-Electric Campground with 93 primitive sites, plus 7 shelter rentals. Equipment lengths range from 23 to 60 feet, with several pull-through sites available. Sites accommodate up to 6 people each. The recreation area offers comprehensive water recreation on Cagles Mill Lake including boating, jet skiing, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. A seasonal aquatic center with water slides and lifeguards operates Memorial Day through Labor Day. The marina provides boat rentals, fuel, moorage, and fish cleaning stations. Five trail systems traverse the property for hiking and wildlife viewing, including paths to nearby Cataract Falls. The nature center offers interpretive programs and exhibits about the area's history, including the historic 1809 Treaty Line that passes through the property. Facilities include modern comfort stations with showers, vault toilets in some areas, a convenience store, camp store with firewood and ice, dump stations, and drinking water hydrants. Recreation amenities include basketball courts, volleyball nets, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The recreation area is located approximately 35 miles west of Terre Haute and 40 miles east of Indianapolis via I-70.

Directions

From I-70, take Exit 37 at Putnamville. Head south on SR 243 for approximately 3 miles to the entrance at 1317 W. Lieber Road, Cloverdale.
