About

Trujillo Meadows Campground occupies a scenic setting adjacent to a mountain meadow and above the 69-acre Trujillo Meadows Reservoir in the Conejos Peak Ranger District of Rio Grande National Forest. The campground consists of two sections, Upper and Lower, totaling 50 campsites. Most trees were removed due to beetle kill, leaving an open feel. Sites 34 through 39 sit in an inner loop that is not suitable for RVs. All sites include picnic tables and fireplaces, though firewood is limited. Vault toilets and drinking water are available, and trash receptacles with regular pickup service are provided. Barrier-free facilities accommodate visitors with accessibility needs. One site can accommodate a two-car group. Maximum site length is 40 feet. The reservoir offers fishing for brown, rainbow, and occasional brook trout. Small motorized and non-motorized watercraft are permitted on this no-wake lake, with a boat ramp available at the nearby Trujillo Meadows Boating Site. An observation platform across from sites 40 and 41 provides views of a waterfall. Los Pinos Trail 736 is accessible via Forest Road 1C and 4WD Forest Road 118. The historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad passes through the area.
