About
Troy Meadow Campground is a high-elevation forest campground located at 7,800 feet in the Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest. The campground features 73 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, with paved parking spurs and bear boxes at each site. While there is no limit on trailer length, the campground does not offer hookups or potable water. The location is popular with OHV enthusiasts, as the campground connects directly to off-highway vehicle trails. The campground can be reached via paved roads either 53 miles northeast of Kernville via Mountain 99 and Sherman Pass Road, or 34 miles west of Highway 395 via Nine Mile Canyon Road. The high elevation provides a cooler forest setting during summer months. Campers must obtain a campfire permit for campfires, barbecues, and camp stoves, and should be prepared to pack out trash as there is no collection service. All pets must be kept on a 6-foot leash. The remote setting and elevation make this an ideal base camp for exploring nearby trails, fishing in streams, and enjoying the surrounding wilderness.
