Closed — The campground is currently closed for renovations from July 7, 2025, through the 2026 camping season, with plans to reopen in 2027. The day-use area along the Lake Michigan shoreline remains open, though occasional closures may occur for intersection work.

Locally higher snow and ice amounts will be possible. This campground is situated in Grand Traverse County in the Interlochen area, approximately 15 miles southwest of Traverse City. The region is characterized by its proximity to Green Lake and Duck Lake, offering access to fishing, boating, and swimming opportunities. The area is known for its natural beauty, with forests of oak, maple, and pine. The nearby Interlochen Center for the Arts hosts concerts and cultural events throughout the year.
