About
D.H. Day Group Campground offers rustic group camping in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, approximately one mile north of the popular Dune Climb. The campground features four group tent sites, each accommodating 7-25 people, situated in an open area with sparse vegetation and dirt road access. Each site includes picnic tables and fire rings. The facility provides vault toilets year-round and seasonal drinking water during the reservation period (May 15-October 15). Water is shut off from October through April. The campground has no hookups, showers, or electric service. RVs, trailers, and pets are not permitted in the group sites. The location provides excellent access to the park's attractions, including the Dune Climb, Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, Glen Haven beach (one mile away), and the historic Glen Haven area with its maritime museum and general store. Campers must check in at the main D.H. Day Campground office before setting up camp at the group campground. The campground is well-positioned for exploring the park's 65 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, perched sand dunes, and diverse natural features.
