About

Tram Road Equestrian Campground sits within the 27,330-acre Tiger Bay State Forest in Volusia County, approximately 10 minutes west of Ormond Beach. This primitive equestrian facility offers four campsites, each equipped with a small horse corral, picnic table, fire ring, and grill. The campground provides a central round training pen for horse work and the Foster Pavilion for group gatherings (requires separate reservation). The area is truly primitive with no electricity or water hookups. A pitcher pump supplies non-potable water suitable for horses but not for drinking. A single portable toilet serves the campground. Two of the four sites are pull-through, accommodating rigs up to 30 feet. Access requires a gate combination provided in the reservation confirmation email. Horseback riders can explore miles of multi-use trails through pine flatwoods and wetland habitats. The forest also supports hiking, bicycling, hunting (in season), wildlife viewing, and photography. Bear activity occurs in the area, so proper food storage is required.
