Bennett Field Group Camp provides a backcountry group camping experience in Tiger Bay State Forest, located approximately 10 minutes west of Daytona Beach in Volusia County. This primitive group site accommodates up to 20 campers and features basic amenities: a communal vault toilet, a pitcher pump providing non-potable water, a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. There is no electricity, so campers should come prepared for primitive conditions and must bring their own drinking water. Tiger Bay State Forest encompasses over 27,000 acres of woodlands and wetlands that serve as a critical aquifer recharge area. The forest offers diverse recreational opportunities including hiking, horseback riding, hunting, bird watching, wildlife viewing, photography, bicycling, and jogging. The forest features two lakes (Indian Lake and Scoggin Lake) and several ponds available for fishing. Access to the campground requires a gate combination provided in your reservation confirmation email. Campers should be aware of bear safety protocols and potential seasonal burn bans during drought conditions. Day passes are not valid; a camping reservation is required for entry.

Directions

From Daytona Beach, head west approximately 10 minutes. Access the campground from State Road 40 at the north end of Rima Ridge Road. The Indian Lake Road bridge is currently closed.
