Also, the dirt county road, 13000 Road, along the north side of the river bank starts to flood at 1.5 miles downstream of gage site where the bridge crosses Lightning Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 17.2 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

Timber Hill Park offers a quiet, shaded camping experience on the east side of Big Hill Lake in Labette County, Kansas. The 20 non-electric campsites sit atop a hill surrounded by mature oak trees, providing natural shade throughout the day. Each site features a picnic table and fire pit, with vault toilets available in the campground. The campground is adjacent to the boat ramp, making it convenient for anglers and boaters exploring Big Hill Lake's 1,240 surface acres. Equestrians will appreciate the proximity to the Big Hill Lake Horse Trail, a 17-mile trail system offering varied terrain suitable for all skill levels. Sites accommodate tents, RVs, trailers, and other camping equipment up to approximately 26-30 feet in length. Check-in and check-out are both at 3:00 PM. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777.
