About

The Headwaters Inn is a historic log lodge dating back to the 1920s, nestled within Minnesota's oldest state park at Itasca. The building has served many purposes over the years, including as the Itasca State Park Headquarters, a forestry office, and the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel before becoming the lodge it is today. The inn features six guest rooms, each with a full bed sleeping two people. Guests share three bathrooms with showers, a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, stoves, and coffee makers, plus a spacious great room with a wood-burning stone fireplace. Two four-season porches, central heat and air conditioning, and wireless internet are provided, along with bed linens, bath towels, and kitchen towels. Outside, guests have access to an outdoor fire ring with cooking grate and picnic tables. The inn is situated within walking distance of Lake Itasca's public water access, sports rental shop, swimming beach, picnic grounds, amphitheater, and playground. Parking is limited to two vehicles per room; additional vehicles must park at the Lake Itasca public water access lot across the street.
