About
Lake Ozawindib Group Center sits on the shores of 151-acre Lake Ozawindib in the heart of Itasca State Park, Minnesota's oldest and most popular state park established in 1891. This group camping facility is specifically designed for organized groups such as scout troops, school overnight trips, and other large gatherings. The center includes multiple campsites arranged around a central dining hall with scenic views of the lake, a counselor cabin that sleeps five, and a shower building. The facility can accommodate up to 75 people, making it ideal for larger group activities. The setting provides a wilderness experience while offering convenient amenities for group camping. Lake Ozawindib offers opportunities for fishing and boating, and the location provides access to Itasca State Park's extensive network of hiking and biking trails, including portions of the North Country National Scenic Trail. The park features over 32,000 acres and more than 100 lakes, with old-growth pine forests and the headwaters of the Mississippi River as key attractions. Winter camping is available, and the park offers year-round recreation including cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during the colder months.
