About
The Crags Campground is a rustic, first-come, first-served campground located at 10,000 feet elevation in Pike National Forest, southeast of Divide, Colorado. The campground features 17 sites suitable for tents, small RVs, or small trailers, though access requires navigating a narrow, winding, and rough 3.5-mile dirt road (Forest Service Road 383) that may not be suitable for large trailers or RVs.
The campground serves as a gateway to popular hiking routes, with The Crags Trail (#664) and Devil's Playground Trail (#753) starting at a trailhead located just 1/8 mile before the campground. The Ring-the-Peak Trail also passes by the campground. These trails provide access to Pikes Peak summit routes and scenic alpine terrain.
Visitors will notice significant changes in the surrounding forest as spruce trees continue to succumb to beetle infestation. This is a pack-in, pack-out campground with no trash service. Outside peak season, water and camp hosts may not be available. Bears are reported in the area, so proper food storage is essential. The campground is heavily used during peak season depending on time of day and year.
Directions
From Divide, drive 4.3 miles south on Colorado Highway 67. Turn left onto Forest Service Road 383 and drive another 3.5 miles east. The access road is narrow, winding, and rough.
