About

Red Rocks Group Campground is located in Pike National Forest, approximately 4 miles north of Woodland Park, Colorado. This rustic group site sits in a ponderosa pine forest at 8,200 feet elevation and can accommodate up to 100 people. The campground is named for the nearby red sandstone formations accessible via Red Rocks Trail #612, which departs directly from the site. The campground connects to the Centennial Bike Trail, a paved, accessible recreation trail linking Red Rocks Group Campground to Manitou Lake Picnic Area and other nearby campgrounds. The trail is popular among hikers, cyclists, and rollerbladers. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts can access the Rainbow Falls OHV Trail System and North Divide OHV Trail System from the area. Manitou Lake, located a short drive away, offers trout fishing, canoeing, and picnicking opportunities. The group site features picnic tables, fire pits, vault toilets, and potable water. Most of the campground is shaded by ponderosa pines. The town of Woodland Park is 4 miles south and provides gas, groceries, and dining. Colorado Springs, about 20 miles southeast, offers additional services and attractions including Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.

Directions

From the I-25 and Highway 24 intersection in Colorado Springs, travel west on Highway 24 for about 18 miles to the junction with Highway 67 in Woodland Park. Turn right (north) on Highway 67 and drive about 4 miles. Turn right (east) on Forest Road 335. The campground entrance is about 0.2 miles on the left.
