About

Colorado Campground sits at 7,800 feet elevation in a ponderosa pine forest within Pike National Forest, approximately 6 miles north of Woodland Park and 25 miles northwest of Colorado Springs. The campground's 80 sites accommodate tents and RVs up to 30 feet, with paved roads and gravel parking spurs. Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate, and the campground provides vault toilets, potable water, and trash collection. An amphitheater hosts campfire programs on weekend evenings. The nearby 5-acre Manitou Lake offers excellent trout fishing and canoeing opportunities, accessible via a short trail from the campground. The paved, accessible Centennial Bike Trail connects Colorado Campground to the Manitou Lake Picnic Area and South Meadows Campground, popular with hikers, cyclists, and rollerbladers. OHV enthusiasts can access the Rainbow Falls and North Divide trail systems nearby. The town of Woodland Park provides gas, groceries, dining, and shopping just 6 miles south. Colorado Springs offers additional services and attractions including Garden of the Gods, while Pikes Peak can be reached via highway from Manitou Springs about 20 miles away.
