Teton Reservoir Campground
Closed
— Closed for the season. Typical use season is June 1 through November 15, as access roads become impassable after heavy rain and snow.
About
Located in the Great Divide Basin about 13 miles south of Rawlins, Teton Reservoir Campground offers a watery oasis amid the rolling sage grasslands under bright Wyoming skies. This free BLM campground features 5 campsites with picnic tables, fire ring/grills, and parking spurs. The reservoir is popular for fishing rainbow and brown trout, as well as non-motorized water sports. A boat ramp and day-use parking area are available.
The campground provides vault toilets but no potable water or hookups. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with pronghorn, mule deer, coyotes, grouse, and waterfowl commonly seen in the area. The site is primitive and remote, offering a true backcountry camping experience in the high desert.
Access is via Wyoming Highway 71 south from Rawlins, then BLM Road 3418. Note that access roads become extremely muddy and impassable after heavy rain and snow, limiting practical use to the warmer months.
Directions
From Rawlins, take Wyoming Highway 71 south approximately 13 miles and turn left on BLM Road 3418. Go about 3/4 mile and turn right into the campground.
