About

Taylorsville Lake State Park is a 1,200-acre recreational destination on 3,050-acre Taylorsville Lake in Spencer County, within an hour of Louisville. The park is popular with both anglers and equestrians, featuring varied camping options and extensive trail systems. The campground offers 75 total sites divided into several areas: 44 standard electric sites with water and electric hookups, 10 dedicated equestrian sites with water and electric hookups for horse camping, 15 primitive tent sites, and 6 group overflow tent sites. RV sites can accommodate equipment up to 112 feet at pull-through sites. The central bathhouse features laundry facilities and is shared by both RV and equestrian campers. An RV dump station is available on-site. Taylorsville Lake provides excellent fishing opportunities for bass, bluegill, and crappie, with four boat launching ramps available. The marina offers boat rentals including pontoon boats and fishing boats, covered and open slips, fuel, and fishing equipment. The park features 16 miles of multi-use trails open to hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, ranging from easy to difficult terrain. Additional amenities include picnic pavilions, playgrounds, and a viewing platform. The town of Taylorsville, located 8 miles from the park, provides dining and grocery services.

Directions

From Louisville, take I-64 to the Gene Snyder Freeway south and KY 155 to Taylorsville. Turn east on KY 44 and drive 3 miles, then proceed onto KY 248 and turn right onto KY 3230. From Bluegrass Parkway, take the KY 55 exit to Taylorsville.
