Taylorsville Lake State Park
Open for the 2026 season through November 15. The campground recently completed renovations including upgraded electrical, water connections, and parking pads. Reservations available up to 12 months in advance through Kentucky State Parks. Minimum 2-night stay required for Friday/Saturday arrivals. Kentucky prohibits importing firewood from outside the state; firewood is available for purchase on-site.

The combination of temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s and high humidity will result in peak afternoon heat index values in the 95 to 105 degree range. Those planning to be outdoors for extended periods of time should drink plenty of water, wear light clothing, and take frequent breaks.

Taylorsville Lake State Park campground is located on Kentucky's 3,050-acre Taylorsville Lake, approximately 30 miles southeast of Louisville. The 1,200-acre park features a 75-site campground divided into standard electric sites, primitive tent camping, and dedicated equestrian sites designed for horse camping enthusiasts. The campground underwent significant renovations in late 2025 through early 2026, with upgrades to electrical service, water connections, and parking pads. Sites are spacious and spread out, each equipped with a parking spur, picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Amenities include a central service building with restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities, plus a dump station for RVs. A gift shop offers bait and tackle, firewood, ice, and drinks. Recreational opportunities abound with 16 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The lake supports excellent fishing for bass, bluegill, and crappie, with four boat ramps and a marina offering pontoon rentals. Additional activities include water skiing, jet skiing, and bird watching.
