About

East Seelye Bay Campground occupies a scenic spot on the eastern shore of Lake Winnibigoshish, one of Minnesota's largest lakes and a renowned walleye fishery. The campground is managed by the Chippewa National Forest and provides 13 standard non-electric campsites on a first-come, first-served basis. Facilities include vault toilets, a picnic area, swimming beach, boat ramp, and fire rings at each site. The Cut Foot Sioux National Recreation Trail runs directly past the campground and along Seelye Point, offering unpaved hiking and horseback riding opportunities. Mountain biking, fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing are popular activities. Lake Winnibigoshish provides excellent boating access for anglers and paddlers alike. Black bears are active in the campground area; campers must store coolers and attractants in hard-sided vehicles when not attended. Bundled firewood is no longer sold at Chippewa National Forest campgrounds. Campers may bring firewood from within Itasca County or purchase from local vendors. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and generators are prohibited during this time.
