Webster State Park sits on 880 acres of prairie landscape characterized by rolling hills and expansive skies along the shores of Webster Reservoir in Rooks County, Kansas. Built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in 1958 and added to the Kansas state park system in 1965, the park offers diverse camping options for visitors seeking both modern amenities and primitive experiences. The park features 93 utility campsites distributed across several campgrounds including Eagles Landing (20 sites), Old Marina (30 sites with one full hookup site), Hill Top (16 sites), Lakeview (10 sites), Rock Point (10 sites), and Goose Flat (6 sites). These sites offer water and electric hookups, with most providing 30 or 50-amp service. Additionally, over 100 primitive campsites are available in areas like Old Town for those preferring a more rustic experience. Two modern rental cabins, Pintail Place and Bluewing Bungalow, provide alternatives for non-RV campers with full amenities including bathrooms, heating, air conditioning, and kitchenettes. Webster Reservoir's 3,700 acres of open water provide excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, crappie, white bass, and channel catfish. The park and surrounding Webster Wildlife Area totaling 8,018 acres offer wildlife viewing opportunities including deer, turkeys, quail, pheasants, and numerous migratory waterfowl and shorebirds. The Coyote Trail provides year-round hiking access through this diverse prairie ecosystem.
