Sunburst Campground occupies a historic site in Pisgah National Forest along NC 215 in Haywood County, where a logging camp once stood near the West Fork Pigeon River. This small, primitive facility offers nine tent-only campsites arranged in a single row, providing a quiet and secluded camping experience between the Shining Rock and Middle Prong Wilderness areas. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, tent pad, lantern post, and campfire ring with grill. The campground provides flush toilets and firewood is available for purchase during the operating season. The campground operates on a reservation system through Recreation.gov, with any unreserved sites available as walk-up for one night only. The location offers excellent access to hiking and mountain biking opportunities in the surrounding wilderness areas. A waterfall across the road provides a popular spot for afternoon swimming. The campground's remote setting makes it ideal for campers seeking to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the Pisgah National Forest in a less-visited area.

Sunburst Campground is located at 8820 Lake Logan Road, Canton, NC 28716. From Waynesville, take US 276S for 7 miles, turn right on NC 215S, and continue for 8 miles. The campground will be on your right.
