About

Summit View Campground is nestled high in the Bear River Range, approximately eight miles east of Georgetown, Idaho. At 7,200 feet elevation, the campground occupies a lodgepole pine forest where summer grasses and wildflowers carpet the understory. During late summer and early fall, wild huckleberries ripen throughout the area. The campground contains 18 single-family campsites and three group sites, all with picnic tables and campfire rings. Vault toilets and potable drinking water are provided during the operating season. An amphitheater is available for day use. Roads and parking spurs are dirt but maintained for passenger vehicles. Recreation centers on the Great Western Trail corridor, which accommodates hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and off-highway vehicles. The Harrington Peak Trail originates within the campground, ascending 3.5 miles to sweeping views from the summit. Wildlife viewing and seasonal hunting are also popular pursuits in the surrounding national forest.
