About

Sulphur Springs Trail Camp is a backcountry trail camp located in the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument within Angeles National Forest. Accessible via the Pacific Crest Trail approximately 6 miles from the Three Points Trailhead, this primitive campground sits at 5,300 feet elevation in the Pleasant View Ridge Wilderness area. The camp features 6 sites designated for hikers and equestrians on a first-come, first-served basis. A seasonal spring may provide water, though flow can be low or non-existent during drought conditions, and all water must be treated before use. The camp has vault toilets but no other amenities or services. Each site typically includes a fire ring and space for tents. The trail camp serves as a popular stop for PCT thru-hikers and a destination for backpackers seeking a remote wilderness experience in the San Gabriel Mountains. Access from Santa Clara Divide Road (Forest Service Road 3N17) requires driving 5.5 miles west from Three Points until the paved road ends, then hiking in. Winter visitors should be prepared for deep snow and challenging conditions.

Directions
