About

Mt. Pacifico Campground sits at 7,100 feet elevation near the western boundary of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, offering a secluded camping experience in the Angeles National Forest. The 10 tent-only sites are primitive but scenic, with vault toilets and picnic tables available. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Access is via the 3N17 Forest Service road from Mill Creek Summit, with a final 4-mile stretch on a dirt road. High-clearance vehicles are strongly recommended. The campground is not accessible to RVs or trailers. The gate is locked during winter when the road becomes impassable due to snow, though walk-in access may still be possible. The Pacific Crest Trail passes approximately half a mile north and downslope of the campground. Dogs are allowed on leash. An Adventure Pass or Interagency Pass is required for vehicles parked at the campground.

Directions

From I-210 in Pasadena, exit onto Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) and drive north for 9 miles. Turn left onto Angeles Forest Highway (County Road N3) and drive about 12 miles to the intersection with Santa Clara Divide Road at Mill Creek Summit. Turn right and drive about 6 miles to the signed gate. Turn left and take the dirt road for 4 miles to the campground. High-clearance vehicle strongly recommended.
