About

Stillwater Campground sits on the northern shore of Lake Granby within the Arapaho National Recreation Area, six miles southeast of Grand Lake. At 8,300 feet elevation, it's the largest campground on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests with 129 sites spread across multiple loops. Twenty-one sites offer electric hookups with 20, 30, and 50 amp service plus water connections, while standard sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site includes a picnic table, campfire ring, and tent pad. Parking spurs range from 25 to 40 feet, with three sites accommodating vehicles up to 46 feet. The campground provides flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and a dump station. Due to mountain pine beetle damage and hazard tree removal, most sites have little to no shade. Lake Granby offers excellent boating, sailing, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Anglers target kokanee salmon along with rainbow, brown, mackinaw, and cutthroat trout. An on-site boat ramp and dock provide direct lake access. Nearby trails include the East Shore Trail (part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail), Roaring Fork Trail, and Monarch Lake Trail. Rocky Mountain National Park's West Entrance is located north of Grand Lake.

Directions

From the intersection of US Highways 40 and 34 in Granby, head north on Highway 34 for 8 miles. The campground is on the east side of the highway.
