About

Arapaho Bay Campground occupies a prime lakefront location on Arapaho Bay at the eastern end of Lake Granby, within the Arapaho National Recreation Area southeast of Grand Lake. At 8,300 feet elevation, the campground provides access to excellent recreational opportunities including boating, sailing, swimming, and fishing for kokanee salmon, rainbow, brown, mackinaw, and cutthroat trout. The campground offers 84 single and double-family sites distributed across three loops: Big Rock, Mora, and Roaring Fork. Each site includes a picnic table, campfire ring, and tent pad. Vault toilets and drinking water from hand pumps are available. Due to extensive hazard tree removal following mountain pine beetle infestation, shade is limited throughout the campground. Afternoon thunderstorms are common during summer months. Numerous trails are accessible from the campground, including the Roaring Fork Trail, Monarch Lake Trail, Cascade Creek Trail, and the East Shore Trail, which is part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Rocky Mountain National Park's west entrance lies just north of Grand Lake, offering additional hiking, wildlife viewing, and scenic driving opportunities.

Directions

From the intersection of US Highways 40 and 34 in Granby, head north on Highway 34 for about 5 miles to County Road 6. Go east for 9 miles to the campground.
