About
AA Bar Ranch (AA Barn) Group Picnic Site is a reservable day-use facility in the Arapaho National Recreation Area, offering a unique setting for group gatherings next to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Colorado River. The centerpiece is a historic barn from a former working ranch, with old corrals still visible on the property. The barn's lower floor provides indoor space with electricity, approximately 5 banquet tables, 80 folding chairs, and 13 outdoor picnic tables. The site is ideal for weddings, reunions, and group events with a maximum capacity of 100 people and suggested vehicle limit of 20. Visitors can access adjacent Forest Service and Rocky Mountain National Park trails on foot. The Colorado River headwaters flow nearby, offering fishing opportunities. The site is not shaded, and temperature inside the barn varies significantly with the season. No overnight camping or fires are permitted. Self-contained gas grills are allowed. Dogs must remain leashed at all times on Forest Service land but are prohibited in Rocky Mountain National Park. All trash must be packed out, and food must be stored in bear-resistant containers.
