About

Sawmill Gulch Campground was a small, primitive Forest Service campground located along State Highway 125 near Willow Creek in Grand County, Colorado. The site was within the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, in the mountains west of Hot Sulphur Springs. The campground sustained damage from flooding in 2011 and was closed at that time. Rather than repairing and reopening the facility, the USFS has slated the campground for decommissioning. The site no longer appears on official USFS campground listings, Recreation.gov, or the Sulphur Ranger District current conditions page, confirming its permanent closure status.

Directions

From Granby, take US Highway 40 west for 2 miles, then turn north on State Highway 125 and continue approximately 9 miles. The former campground site is on the left side of the highway near Willow Creek. Note that the campground is permanently closed.
