Steel Creek Group Campground is located 35 miles northeast of Dubois, Idaho, in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest's Dubois Ranger District. The campground features one large accessible group site nestled among willow and pine trees along a small stream, offering picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. The site accommodates up to 200 people with tiered pricing based on group size. Amenities include vault toilets, potable drinking water from faucets, picnic and serving tables, a grill, and a campfire circle. A common parking area sits adjacent to the dining space. Bear-resistant garbage containers and food lockers are provided for proper food storage. Popular activities in the area include hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and ATV riding, though no OHVs are allowed beyond the parking area and pack or saddle stock are prohibited in the campground. The access road is gravel. Basic services including phone, gas, and groceries are available in Dubois, Idaho.

Directions

From Dubois, Idaho: Travel north on I-15 to the Stoddard Creek Exit (Exit 184). Go east on West Camas-Miners Creek Road (FR 006) for approximately 14 miles to Steel Creek Road (FR 478), turn right and continue 0.75 miles to the campground entrance.
