Price Creek Campground

Price Creek Campground is located in the Dillon Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, Montana's largest national forest. Situated at 7,873 feet elevation along the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway, the campground offers 21 first-come, first-served individual campsites and one reservable group site that accommodates up to six trailers. Lodgepole pines provide ample shade throughout the campground. Amenities include accessible vault toilets, potable water from hand pumps (available through mid-September), fire rings and picnic tables at each site, and bear-resistant food storage boxes. There are no hookups, showers, or dump station. This is a pack-it-out campground with no trash service. Maximum trailer length is 30 feet, and there is no cell phone coverage in the area. The campground serves as a base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. Crystal Park, a unique 30-acre area open to the public for digging quartz crystals, lies just 1.5 miles north. Wildlife including deer, elk, moose, and occasional black bear frequent the area. Dillon is approximately 46 miles southeast, while the small community of Wise River with basic services is 28 miles north.

Directions

From Dillon, drive south on Interstate 15 for 3 miles. Take the Highway 278 exit, drive west on Highway 278 for 22 miles. Take Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway Road 73 north for 16 miles, then Forest Road 2406 for 0.25 miles to the campground.
