Closed — Closed for the winter season. The campground typically opens mid-June through early December, weather dependent. The Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway is closed during winter months.

About

Nestled along the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway of southwest Montana, Price Creek Campground provides a high-elevation mountain camping experience at 7,873 feet. The campground is part of the Dillon Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the largest national forest in Montana. The 21 individual campsites operate on a first-come, first-served basis, while one group site is available by reservation. All sites are surrounded by lodgepole pines providing abundant shade and natural beauty. The campground accommodates both tents and trailers up to 30 feet in length via paved access roads. Facilities include vault toilets, hand pump drinking water (available through mid-September), picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Bear-resistant food storage boxes are provided to comply with the food storage order. There is no garbage service, so campers must pack out all trash. No cell service is available at the campground. Visitors have easy access to diverse recreational opportunities, including Crystal Park (just 1.5 miles north) where the public can dig for quartz crystals, numerous hiking and ATV/UTV trails, high mountain lakes for fishing, and the scenic 49-mile Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway with interpretive sites like Coolidge Ghost Town. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with deer, elk, moose, and occasional black bears passing through the area. After a day of adventure, Elkhorn Hot Springs Resort offers natural hot springs nearby.
