About
Hidden Lake Dispersed Site is a primitive dispersed camping area within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest in southwestern Montana's Madison County. The site offers a true backcountry experience for self-sufficient campers seeking solitude away from developed campgrounds. As a dispersed camping area, there are no developed facilities, designated sites, or services. Campers must bring all their own supplies including drinking water, and must pack out all trash. The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest has a mandatory forest-wide food storage order, so proper bear-resistant food storage is required. Access to dispersed areas in this region typically requires high-clearance vehicles, as forest roads can be rough and unmaintained. Standard dispersed camping regulations apply: camp at least 200 feet from water sources and roads, and camping is limited to 16 days within any 30-day period.

From Lima, Montana, head west on Forest Road 8384 for approximately 20 miles to reach the Elk Lake Dispersed Camping & Picnic Area.
