About
Long Lake Campground sits at 3,237 feet elevation in the Colville National Forest, offering 12 well-shaded, level campsites around a pristine 12.8-acre lake. The campground can accommodate everything from tents to larger RVs and trailers, though the entrance road along Fish Lake's eastern shoreline is narrow and rough, requiring caution for larger rigs. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with potable water provided by an old-fashioned hand pump well and vault toilets available. The clear 58-foot deep lake is stocked with cutthroat trout and restricted to fly fishing only, with internal combustion motors and lead weights prohibited. A beautiful 1.5-mile trail follows the lake's edge, providing excellent opportunities to view resident common loons and other wildlife. Chipmunks are abundant throughout the campground. The area experiences heavy use, and black bears frequent the area during huckleberry season, so proper food storage is required at all times.
