About

Spring Creek Campground is located on the Wild and Scenic Salmon River in the North Fork region of Salmon-Challis National Forest, positioned upstream from where the river meets the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork. The campground provides 5 developed campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, as well as numerous undeveloped dispersed camping areas for those seeking a more primitive experience. The surrounding area is a haven for outdoor recreation. An intricate web of dirt roads, jeep trails, and single track trails provides extensive opportunities for exploration by vehicle, mountain bike, or on foot. The Salmon River offers excellent fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout, steelhead, and whitefish. Whitewater enthusiasts can use the campground as a launch point for a popular 10-mile day run featuring Class III rapids, with the take-out located downstream at Cove Creek. Access to the campground requires traveling 18 miles west from North Fork on Forest Road 030. The remote location and variety of camping options make it an ideal base camp for anglers, paddlers, and backcountry explorers seeking to experience the wild character of the Salmon River corridor.
