About

Spring Creek Campground is a rustic riverside campground located on the Wild and Scenic Salmon River in Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest. Positioned upstream from the confluence with the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork, the area offers exceptional scenery and direct river access. The campground features 5 developed campsites along with numerous undeveloped sites for those seeking a more dispersed experience. The surrounding area is webbed with dirt roads, jeep trails, and single-track trails, making it easy to explore the rugged backcountry. Fishing opportunities abound in the Salmon River, with cutthroat and rainbow trout, steelhead, and whitefish all present. The campground also serves as a put-in point for a popular 10-mile rafting section featuring Class III rapids, with take-out at Cove Creek downstream. Facilities are basic, with vault toilets available but no potable water on site. Campers should come prepared with their own water supply. The campground is accessed via Forest Road 030, approximately 18 miles west of North Fork.
