About
South Fork Group Site 5 is a dedicated group camping area within the larger South Fork Campground, nestled along the scenic South Fork of Clearwater River in Idaho's Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The site can accommodate groups of up to 25 people and is available by reservation through Recreation.gov from late May through late September. This is a primitive group site with no restrooms or potable water directly available. Campers must bring their own water supply and pack out all trash. The site features a grill and picnic table. Parking is very limited with a maximum of 5 vehicles allowed; additional vehicles parked near other campsites will be charged for those sites. No reservations are permitted on holiday weekends. The campground sits in the Highway 14 Corridor, featuring forested canyons with rugged granite outcroppings, lodgepole pine-covered uplands, and wildflower meadows. Anglers can fish for trout, steelhead, and salmon in the Clearwater River, and berry picking is popular in season.
