Castle Creek Campground is a small, rustic 9-site campground located along the South Fork of the Clearwater River at milepost 14 on Highway 14, approximately 14 miles east of Grangeville, Idaho. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis year-round, though winter access may be limited due to snow conditions. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets available on-site. The campground can accommodate moderate-sized RVs and trailers, with sites situated right along the river. Anglers will find excellent opportunities for trout, steelhead, and salmon fishing in the South Fork of the Clearwater River. The location offers a peaceful riverside setting within the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Campers should note that the water system is currently off, so bringing your own drinking water is essential. No garbage services are provided; visitors must pack out all trash. Access to the campground involves traveling the Mt. Idaho Grade, which can be steep. The campground charges $12 per night with an additional $3 fee for each extra vehicle.

Directions

From the east end of Grangeville, head south on the Grangeville Salmon Road and turn left at the drive-in theater toward the small town Mt. Idaho. Continue on the Mt. Idaho Grade, and toward Elk City on Highway 14. Castle Creek Campground is located at milepost 14 on Highway 14.
