Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Gates of the Mountains, Upper Blackfoot and MacDonald Pass, Southern High Plains, and Southern Rocky Mountain Front. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, especially over mountain passes. Back country conditions may be very dangerous. Wet snow and gusty winds may down trees limbs and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A snow band may develop across portions of Central Montana leading to locally higher snowfall rates and amounts.

The campground sits in active bear habitat within the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem. A mandatory food and wildlife attractant storage order is in effect year-round, requiring all food to be stored in approved bear-resistant containers and removed from the area after eating. Visitors should exercise caution and practice proper food storage at all times. Recreational opportunities include fishing in nearby streams, hiking, and horseback riding. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Road access determines seasonal availability, with the forest road typically impassable during winter months due to snow.
