About

San Clemente State Beach Campground provides ocean-front camping on landscaped blufftops overlooking a mile-long beach midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. The campground offers a mix of RV sites with full hookups (water, sewer, electric) and tent sites, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. Seven sites feature ADA accessibility. Steep paved trails lead down to the beach, which is popular for surfing, body surfing, swimming, snorkeling, and surf fishing. The park has been a California State Beach since 1937 and attracts water sports enthusiasts year-round. Amenities include restrooms with showers, a dump station, drinking water, and picnic areas. The visitor center is housed in a historic 1934 Spanish Colonial cottage, open Sunday through Friday. The 2.3-mile Beach Trail connects to nearby beaches and is popular for walking and biking. Group campsites are also available. Campsites range from $45-$70 per night. Reservations are made through Reserve California. Day use parking is $15-$20 depending on season and holidays. Park gates are open 6 AM to 10 PM daily. Dogs are not permitted on the beach or trails except service animals, but are allowed in parking areas and campground on leash.
