About
Sly Creek Campground sits at 3,530 feet elevation along the shores of Sly Creek Reservoir in the remote eastern corner of Butte County within Plumas National Forest's Feather River Ranger District. The campground features 25 first-come, first-served sites nestled in a mixed conifer forest, many with stunning views of the lake. Each site includes a table and fire ring, and the campground can accommodate trailers up to 22 feet, though no hookups are provided. The Sly Creek Recreation Area attracts campers, anglers, and flatwater boating enthusiasts seeking a quieter, more remote destination. A boat ramp provides lake access for motorized boating, waterskiing, and fishing. The Strawberry branch of the reservoir has a 5 mph speed limit. The campground is operated under special use permit by South Feather Water & Power, which maintains the facilities. The campground operates seasonally, typically opening around early May and closing in early November. Each site allows two vehicles with a $2 fee for additional vehicles. Overflow parking is available. OHV use is prohibited in the campground area, though OHV trail and road riding opportunities exist nearby. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.
