About

Frenchy Point Campground is a remote, primitive camping area accessible only by boat on Bullards Bar Reservoir in Tahoe National Forest. Located approximately 5 miles northwest of Dark Day Boat Ramp on the reservoir's western shore, this undeveloped site functions primarily as overflow capacity when the more established boat-in campgrounds like Garden Point and Madrone Cove are full. The campground offers a true backcountry experience with no developed facilities. There are no restrooms, and campers are required to bring their own portable chemical toilet. Potable water is not available; any water from the reservoir must be filtered or treated before consumption. The primitive nature of this site makes it best suited for self-sufficient boaters seeking solitude on the 4,760-acre reservoir.
