About

Golden Trout Campground offers a quiet, no-frills camping experience in the Plumas National Forest at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The campground has 15 first-come, first-served sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets and hand pump water (available during the summer recreation season) serve the campground. One site is ADA accessible. The area is well-suited for stream fishing, day hiking, and nature viewing. OHV riding trails are nearby, though motorized vehicle use is prohibited within the campground itself. The campground enforces a maximum of 8 people per site with a limit of 2 vehicles. Pets are welcome but must be leashed and attended at all times. Senior and Access passes are honored for single campsites. The 14-day stay limit applies. Campers should come prepared with water in case the hand pump is not operational. Bear awareness protocols are required in this area.
