About
Located 28 miles south of Interstate 90 in the Rock Creek drainage of Lolo National Forest, Siria Campground offers a primitive camping experience in one of Montana's most scenic fishing destinations. The campground features 4 tent-only sites nestled within an old growth ponderosa pine forest along the banks of Rock Creek, a blue ribbon trout stream known throughout the region for excellent fly fishing. The campground provides basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. No drinking water is available, so campers must bring their own. The remote location and challenging access via narrow, rough Rock Creek Road #102 means this campground is not suitable for RVs, trailers, or large motorhomes. At an elevation of 4,500 feet, the setting offers a true backcountry atmosphere while remaining accessible by vehicle. Siria operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. The campground is open year-round depending on weather conditions, though amenities are only maintained from May through September. From October through April, the site remains accessible but services are not provided. Bear safety and food storage requirements are in effect. The light usage level makes this an ideal destination for those seeking solitude along one of Montana's premier trout streams.
Directions
From Interstate 90, 20 miles east of Missoula, take Rock Creek exit #126 onto Rock Creek Road. Drive 28 miles south on Rock Creek Road #102. Trailers, motorhomes and tow vehicles not recommended due to the narrow and rough road.
