About
Located 17 miles south on Rock Creek Road in the Lolo National Forest, Harry's Flat Campground provides a rustic camping experience along one of Montana's premier fishing destinations. Situated at 4,100 feet elevation amongst ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir trees, the campground is adjacent to Rock Creek, famous for its blue ribbon trout fishing and dramatic canyon scenery. The campground has recently undergone significant improvements funded by on-site fee collection, the Tri-County Resource Advisory Committee, and the Great American Outdoors Act. Upgrades include a hardened river access ramp with day-use parking for vehicles and boat trailers, new vault toilets, additional campsites, fire rings, and picnic tables. Each of the 15 campsites includes a table and fire ring. Access requires driving a narrow, rough road not recommended for trailers, motorhomes, or large tow vehicles. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Campers must practice proper bear safety and follow food storage requirements, as this is active bear country. No potable water is available on-site, so visitors must bring their own drinking water.
Directions
From Missoula, drive 20 miles east on Interstate 90 to exit 126 (Rock Creek exit). Turn south onto Rock Creek Road #102 and drive 17 miles. Road is narrow and rough, not recommended for trailers, motorhomes, or large tow vehicles.
