About

Silver Springs Campground is situated along the banks of the White River in a beautiful section of old-growth forest within Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, just one mile from Mount Rainier National Park's north entrance. The campground features 56 widely-spaced sites beneath towering Douglas fir, cedar, and western hemlock, with many sites positioned directly on the riverbank. The White River, fed by glacial meltwater from Emmons Glacier on Mount Rainier, provides excellent fishing opportunities for salmon and trout. The surrounding area offers exceptional hiking, including the nearby 0.5-mile accessible John Muir Nature Trail and the challenging Crystal Mountain Trail, which climbs through forest to expansive views of the White River Valley and Mount Rainier. The campground also features the historic 1931 Silver Creek Guard Station, which serves as a visitor information center. A natural spring flows through the center of the campground, adding to the scenic atmosphere. Mount Rainier dominates the landscape, rising to 14,411 feet with 36 square miles of snowfields and glaciers. Wildlife ranges from mountain goats in higher elevations to porcupines and pine martens in the forests. The campground provides convenient access to Mount Rainier National Park's trails, scenic drives, and glacial landscapes while offering a quieter forest setting outside the park boundaries.
