Government Meadows Horse Camp is a free, first-come-first-served equestrian facility in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, located in Pierce County, Washington. The camp serves as a staging area for horseback riders and dispersed campers exploring the surrounding forest trails. Facilities include vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and garbage cans. The site is specifically designed for visitors with horses and stock trailers, featuring a highline for tying horses and hitching posts. Parking can accommodate approximately 10 trucks with stock trailers. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own drinking water. No fees are charged and no reservations are required. Access is via Forest Road 70 from Highway 410 east of Enumclaw, continuing onto Forest Road 70003. The camp sits at approximately 4,800 feet elevation in a forested meadow setting typical of the Cascade Range.

Directions

From Enumclaw, drive east on Highway 410 for about 20 miles, then turn left on Forest Road 70. Continue on Forest Road 70 for about 15 miles. After passing the intersection with Forest Road 7080, continue on Forest Road 70003 for about a mile and a half to the gate.
