About

Beechwood Campground is Ludington State Park's largest modern campground, divided into three loops (north, middle, and south) with 147 generous, tree-shaded sites on the park's east side near Hamlin Lake. The campground underwent major renovations and reopened in July 2025 with enhanced facilities. All sites feature electrical service (20/30 amp, with some offering 50 amp), and the campground includes modern toilet and shower buildings, a sanitation station, and one mini cabin that sleeps five guests. The campground's location provides excellent access to Hamlin Lake activities and the popular Lost Lake-Island Trail loop, which connects from each campground loop. Ludington State Park sits between 5,000-acre Hamlin Lake and 7 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, offering scenic sand dunes, the iconic Big Sable Point Lighthouse (accessible via a 1.8-mile trail), 21 miles of marked trails, fishing, paddling, swimming beaches, and year-round recreation opportunities. The park features modern amenities including bike rentals, watercraft rentals, concessions, and nature programs.
