About

Fishermens Bend Recreation Site is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and sits along the scenic North Santiam River, 29 miles east of Salem on Highway 22. The River Loop area is currently open for day-use activities including picnicking, hiking, fishing, and boating. The site offers 7 individual picnic sites available on a first-come-first-serve basis, each equipped with a picnic table and barbecue grill. The Cottonwoods group picnic shelter can be reserved through Recreation.gov for $110 per day. Porta potties are available but there is no potable water on site. Trails lead around the River Loop and to a fishing overlook above the river. Day-use fees are $5 per passenger vehicle, with Northwest Oregon District Annual Day Passes available for $30.
