About
Raymond R. Andy Guest, Jr. Shenandoah River State Park sits on 1,619 acres along 5.2 miles of the South Fork of the Shenandoah River in Warren County. The park opened in 1999 and offers scenic views of Massanutten Mountain to the west and Shenandoah National Park to the east. Overnight accommodations include 10 modern cabins (nine two-bedroom and one three-bedroom), a six-bedroom family lodge, three recreational yurts, and four camping cabins. The modern cabins feature full kitchens with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and all cooking utensils, plus climate control, fireplaces, wrap-around decks with rocking chairs, and picnic tables with grills outside. Cabins 2 and 5, plus the lodge, are universally accessible. The six-bedroom lodge sleeps up to 16 and includes a washer and dryer. The yurts provide a tent-cabin hybrid experience with queen and twin beds, while camping cabins offer basic shelter with bunk beds, electricity, and a fan but no kitchen or bathroom. The park features over 25 miles of trails open for hiking and biking, with 14 miles also open for horseback riding. Three car-top boat launches provide river access for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The park also offers picnic shelters, a visitor center with gift shop, and year-round educational programs.
