About

Hazard Mill Campground was a primitive recreation site located in the George Washington National Forest in Warren County, Virginia, near the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. The campground provided a basic backcountry camping experience for visitors exploring this section of the Shenandoah Valley. The U.S. Forest Service has permanently closed this campground. The site offered no developed amenities such as potable water, restrooms, or other facilities. The closure means the area is no longer maintained or operated as an official camping destination. Campers seeking overnight accommodations in the George Washington National Forest should consider other active campgrounds in the area, such as Elizabeth Furnace or other developed sites managed by the Lee Ranger District.
