About

Sand Harbor State Park is a stunning day-use beach area located on the east shore of Lake Tahoe within Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. The crystal-clear waters, granite boulders, and sandy beaches make it one of the most popular destinations in the Tahoe basin. However, overnight camping is explicitly prohibited at Sand Harbor. The group use area, known as the Ramada, is available for reservation for day-use events only. It can accommodate up to 120 people and includes twelve cafeteria-style tables, a large gas grill with park-supplied propane, two 110V electrical outlets, and potable water (weather-dependent). The Ramada provides a lakeside location but does not guarantee beach space, which remains first-come, first-served. Day-use reservations are required for vehicle entry from May 15 through September 30. Entry fees are $10 for Nevada-registered vehicles and $15 for out-of-state vehicles, plus a $5 reservation fee. For overnight camping near Lake Tahoe, visitors should look to other nearby campgrounds.
