About

Sand Harbor State Park Group Campground is located on the eastern shores of Lake Tahoe, North America's largest alpine lake. The facility centers around a covered ramada situated next to the lake that can accommodate groups of up to 120 people, with larger groups possible through special arrangements with the park. The covered facility is equipped with a large gas grill with park-provided propane, electricity via two 110V outlets, potable water (subject to weather conditions and winter shutoff), and twelve cafeteria-style tables that comfortably seat 10 people each. The group area is surrounded by the natural beauty of Sand Harbor, with gently sloping beaches, crystal-clear water, and interesting rock formations nearby. The location features views of the cobalt blue waters of Lake Tahoe against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, with shade provided by cedars and Jeffrey pines. The facility is available by reservation only through Nevada State Parks' ReserveNevada.com system. Beach space near the ramada is available on a first-come, first-served basis only and is not guaranteed with ramada reservations.
