About
Sagehen Creek Campground is a remote, rustic campground located along Sagehen Creek approximately seven miles west of Highway 89 North in the Tahoe National Forest. Situated at 6,500 feet elevation, the campground is adjacent to a beautiful meadow with shade provided by lodgepole pine trees. The campground features 10 first-come, first-served sites with picnic tables and fire rings. An accessible vault toilet is provided, but there is no potable water or trash service, so visitors must pack everything in and pack everything out. No fees are charged for camping. Access roads are rough and mostly unpaved, making the campground unsuitable for large RVs. Prepare for mosquitos in the early camping season. Firewood is not available for purchase. Camping is limited to 14 days per year. The campground provides a quiet, remote setting for visitors seeking a rustic camping experience near Sagehen Creek and the surrounding meadows. Access is via Forest Road 260 and Forest Road 11 from Highway 89 North at Sagehen Summit.
