About

S-Tree Campground occupies a scenic ridge above Horse Lick Creek in Jackson County, Kentucky, within the Daniel Boone National Forest. The campground offers 20 primitive, first-come, first-served campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, tent pad, fire ring, and lantern pole. Vault toilets are available, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is provided on-site. The campground is especially popular with off-highway vehicle enthusiasts due to its proximity to Renfro Loop OHV Trail #302. Near the entrance, visitors can explore a historic picnic shelter constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The area provides a quiet retreat for tent campers and those with smaller rigs seeking access to the forest's trail systems. Due to narrow, one-lane roads with no turn-outs, the campground cannot accommodate trailers longer than 25 feet. Payment is made via fee envelope (cash or check) or the Recreation.gov app. Interagency Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount on single-site fees.
