About
Rocky Point Campground sits on the southwest corner of Santa Rosa Lake State Park in the semiarid upper Pecos River valley of eastern New Mexico. This established, multi-looped campground offers a range of developed sites with modern amenities including electric hookups (30 and 50 amp), water hydrants throughout the campground, restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station. The campground is divided into Rocky Point A Loop and Rocky Point B Loop, with approximately 90 total sites. Most sites accommodate RVs up to 30 feet, with select sites handling rigs up to 50 feet. The campground provides both reservable sites (with water and electric hookups) and first-come, first-served developed sites.
Santa Rosa Lake offers year-round recreation including fishing, boating (motorized and non-motorized), water skiing, swimming, and wildlife viewing. The park features 5.5 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, a playground, volleyball court, and horseshoe pit. The reservoir is known for excellent walleye and bass fishing, as well as abundant bird watching opportunities. Rocky Point Campground is pet-friendly and provides picnic tables and fire rings at sites. The park is located approximately 7 miles north of Santa Rosa via NM Highway 91.
